So we have been trying to sell our house for exactly 90 days. On Monday we received our first offer....$8000 under our asking price so we were extremely disappointed and frustrated that this was the best offer out there. What if we pass this up and we don't get another offer. So we were in the process of negotiating the offer. We were able to get him to meet us half way by Thursday, but were still not sure. So Thursday night we were debating on signing the contract. Kirsten and I went for our walk to give Casey some time to think and I figured he would have a decision by the time we returned. Unfortunately, we received some concening news from a family member who we were more concerned about so we did not make any decisons. Joy was carrying the contract around with her thinking she would stop by and we could sign but I didn't have a chance to get back to her, which happened to be a blessing. We were suppose to sign before 7 and at 8 she called and said "the gentleman that looked on Tuesday wants to come and look again in the morning" She had told his agent we were in the process of negotiating a contract so he better get on it IF he was going to make an offer. By 11:30 Friday we had a CASH offer - I know not many people are carrying around this much cash but I don't care where the money comes from just as long as it does right - $500 under our asking price. I was floored and super excited since we had all the stress in the beginning of the week. We will close on May 8th. Inspections are scheduled for this Tuesday and then we can start on the new house!! We were very lucky this week and if we hadn't of been going back and forth with the first guy we may not have gotten the offer we accepted. Everything just happened to work out for us this week.Friday, March 5, 2010
